This Is Us

We are The Brennans. Kaelan, Jordan, and Greyson to those who know us and soon you will be able to say you’re one of those people. So who are we? Let me tell you a little about our family.

The story of how we became a family is honestly pretty crazy. Kaelan and I went to college together for a year in Denver, Colorado. He was from Albuquerque, New Mexico and I was from a tiny town called Tatum, Texas. Our paths crossed for one year before I left Denver and transferred to Texas A&M University to finish school. Fast forward 5 years of us living completely separate lives and suddenly we were communicating every day. Half jokingly Kaelan invited me to be his date at a wedding that was 2 weeks away, I bought a ticket and the rest is history. Sort of. The wedding was Kaelan’s brothers wedding. So I met my husband’s family and entire extended family on our very first date. When we began our romance we were both back to living in our hometowns. We spent many weekends over the next few months flying between New Mexico and Texas. We both knew immediately we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. Our plan was for me to move to Albuquerque and then we would get engaged. God had a different plan for us.

In early December Kaelan and I found out we were going to be parents. There was lots of excitement accompanied with overwhelming anxiety. We didn’t even live in the same state. How was this going to work. We needed more time, but we only had nine months to get our ducks in a row. We both really wanted to be married before our child was born so we planned to get married in February in Austin, Texas. I packed everything up and moved to Albuquerque right before the wedding. We found out we were having a little boy. We bought a house that we planned to remodel into our little family’s first home and we moved in around April. Greyson was born in August and we became three. Everything Kaelan and I had hoped for was happening all within a one year span. Life was flying by and we couldn’t slow it down.

Looking back it was the most magically stressful time of my life. I wouldn’t change anything even if I could. We were married, living in our perfect little house, and raising the most precious baby boy. I could not have asked for anything more. There were definitely difficult times, but it was God’s plan for our lives and it was perfect. Now here we are just a few weeks from having a one year old! The road might not have been smooth, but it sure has been beautiful!

Many Blessings — Jordan
